In the stony foothills of Aravalli range is the kingdom of Danta, ruled by the Parmar Rajputs. Having migrated from Sindh in the 12th century, the Parmars made it in to an important political center at the border of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Bhavani Villa Palace of the dynasty however, does not hark back to any Rajput style, but reminds us more of the colonial period of Indian history in its modem architecture.
